Chief of Confusion

Says John Seely Brown:

Today, I’m Chief of Confusion, helping people ask the right questions, trying to make a difference through my work- speaking, writing, teaching.

John Seely Brown is an innovator who has always integrated technology and humanism with a critical view. In the article “Five Questions… for John Seely Brown“, Lisa Neal, Editor-in-Chief, eLearn Magazine, gets a few very intriguing answers. JSB talks about his famous article on Change magazine called “Growing up Digital” of some time ago. He also speaks well of the KEEP toolkit and Web site being developed by Toru Iiyoshi at the Carnegie foundation. {A very interesting work in educational technology, more on this in a next post 🙂 }

He closes with another quote from a paper of his, “You Play World of Warcraft? You’re Hired!” written for Wired magazine, in which he discusses the relationship between learning and game playing.

His website is also inspiring: http://www.johnseelybrown.com/.
In it he has all his major articles and his interests are worth exploring: globalization, innovation and -of course- learning in the digital age.
