ICANN San Juan 2007

I learned from vidadigital that the ICANN’s next meeting will be in San Juan. Exactly, June 25-29, at the beautiful Caribe Hilton Hotel. Click here to register (it’s free). This event is SO IMPORTANT I am reposting the news here. The ICANNICANN San Juan (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is the international entity “responsible for the global coordination of the Internet’s system of unique identifiers.” These include domain names like .com, .org, .pr, and the numerical addresses used by Internet protocols.

The importance of the meeting is strategic. Also, Vint Cerf will be attending (likely), among participants from all over the world. We have to thank the Gauss Research Laboratory of Dr. Oscar Moreno for bringing here this state-of-the-art event and for its role as Puerto Rico’s local domain (.pr) administrator.
